My art stems from myths I've designed in my mind. I love to create characters that have wandered too far into the woods or looked at something they shouldn't have. These ideas are deeply personal to me.
I spent six years of active duty as a Combat Camera soldier. Honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 2022, I spent those six years endeavoring to create art out of struggles.
Themes of isolation drive me. Whenever I witnessed moments of introspection, I moved to capture them with my camera. And now that I'm out of the army, I'm striving to transcribe those feelings into my art.
My goal as a Combat Camera was to capture moments of conflict in our world and preserve them so that, at the very least, people's families could get a glimpse of what happens in an austere environment. When other soldiers would ask me why I was there with them in Iraq, I'd smile wryly through my mustache and say, "I'm here to make you immortal."
